Ørsted can resume construction of the Sunrise Wind offshore wind farm off the east coast of the United States.

A federal court in Washington D.C. has ruled on this, according to TV 2 and DR.

Ørsted's subsidiary Sunrise Wind filed a complaint with a district court in Washington D.C. at the beginning of January, after the US Department of the Interior put the offshore wind project on hold in December.

The complaint has suspensive effect, and Ørsted must therefore now continue the construction project until a final court decision is made.

On January 12, Ørsted was also found in favor of a court in Washington D.C. and was then able to resume work on another offshore wind farm, Revolution Wind, which had also been paused by the US government.

The order, which affected both Sunrise Wind and Revolution Wind, came from the authorities on December 22nd of last year and meant that activities in connection with the two offshore wind farms had to be stopped for 90 days.
