Ukraine's energy supply has been under heavy fire from Russian bombs during the ongoing war. Therefore, there is a need for new energy sources in the country.
A new project consisting of 64 turbines will help cover this need, and for this project, Danish Navitas Renewables has secured a contract. The company will be responsible for installing 64 wind turbines at a single location in Ukraine. This is stated by the company in a press release.
- In addition to being an energy project, this is also a picture of Ukraine's hope for the future and the country's resilience, says Henrik Monefeldt, partner at Navitas Renewables. He continues:
- We, at Navitas Renewables, are proud to play a role in the reconstruction of critical infrastructure and to be able to create green energy for a society affected by an ongoing conflict.
The installation is expected to begin this year and be completed by the end of 2026.
Navitas Renewables does not disclose which project it is and who is behind it. But on Wednesday Eifo and Vestas announced a project consisting of exactly 64 turbines near Mykolaiv in Ukraine.
