Tomorrow, Tuesday, Bornholm and Hammershus were supposed to have laid the groundwork for the Baltic Energy Security Summit. Mette Frederiksen, President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, EU Energy Commissioner, Kadri Simson, Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, Lithuanian President, Gitanas Nauseda, Latvian Prime Minister, Krisjanis Karins, Estonian Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas, Finnish Prime Minister, Sanna Marin, as well as the countries' energy ministers and representatives of energy companies and electricity system operators in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden and Germany were supposed to participate.
They still want to, but the heads of state and officials will no longer go to the castle ruins on Bornholm to discuss the future ambitions for offshore wind in the Baltic Sea.
A strike is thus making transport to Bornholm more difficult for the many international participants. Since Friday, Bornholm Airport has been closed due to a strike by the operations staff, who are organized in 3F.
The strike does not appear to have ended before Tuesday, which is why they have now been forced to move the summit to another location.
The location will be the Prime Minister's official residence Marienborg north of Copenhagen, DK Vindkraft learns.
DK Vindkraft has been in contact with the EU Commission's office in Denmark, which refers to the Prime Minister's Office. The Prime Minister's Office will not comment on the story, but informs DK Vindkraft that an announcement about the summit will be made later on Monday.
