Four GW of onshore renewable energy projects in several unspecified geographical areas. That is the goal of a new joint venture that TotalEnergies and European Energy have joined forces on. The companies announced this in a statement.

The partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both parties. TotalEnergies, which will become the majority owner with 65 percent, will bring, in addition to financial robustness, its experience in building and operating large-scale projects and the company's ability to market energy sales in several trading countries to the table.

While European Energy's track record in developing greenfield projects and engaging stakeholders is highlighted.

- This collaboration will build on the strengths and complementarities of both companies to bring value to these markets, where our integrated power strategy makes a lot of sense, says Vincent Stoquart, Senior Vice President, Renewables at TotalEnergies.

European Energy's CEO, Knud Erik Andersen, also sees great synergies in the collaboration with TotalEnergies.

- With our extensive development pipeline and experience in developing green projects and TotalEnergies' experience and ambitions in renewable energy onshore and offshore, this partnership sets a new milestone for a further acceleration of the growth of our renewable energy capacity around the world, he says.
