Hyndla has become the first company to enter into a lease agreement in the Port of Odense's new production and logistics halls, although the construction will not be completed until April 2025. This is what the Port of Odense says in a press release.
- The fact that we can have the entire company together in one place, and then in a place where we are close to our customers and where we are close to a shipping port. This is exactly what we have been looking for for a long time. I expect that we can improve our work processes, as we will have a large hall at the Port of Odense instead of our three current and smaller halls, where we can create a more lean and efficient production for the benefit of both ourselves and our customers,
says Henrik Stamer, CEO of Hyndla.
The agreement covers 2,000 m2 of the total of 10,000 m2 of new halls that the port is currently building. The halls are to meet increasing demand – especially from the offshore wind industry – and almost 98 percent of the port's existing building stock of 250,000 m² has already been let.
- We are experiencing massive growth among the companies at the port. Therefore, investments in new capacities, such as our upcoming production and logistics halls, are crucial to meeting demand in the coming years. We know the importance of daring to invest and being one step ahead of the market. Hyndla's signing of a lease agreement before the construction is finally completed is a clear example of this, says Carsten Aa, CEO of Odense Havn A/S.
The Port of Odense expects to lease the rest of the areas during 2025. According to the port, the close location to the quay and the possibility of combining production and logistics are a significant competitive parameter for companies in the offshore industry.
- The cooperation with the Port of Odense has been excellent. We have been invited into the process and have been asked what our needs and wishes were, and the Port of Odense has been very responsive. It will be incredibly good to get involved in something new and something big, which is future-proof for us. Fortunately, we are in an industry that is growing. We are experiencing that our deliveries and our services will be in more and more demand in the future, and therefore we are now preparing for an even greater demand for what Hyndla delivers, says Henrik Stamer.
