The Danish Energy Agency is opening two new pools to support experimental wind turbines that are established within and outside the two national test centers for large wind turbines at Østerild and Høvsøre, respectively.
The pool for experimental wind turbines that are established within the national test centers is 40 MW, while the pool for experimental wind turbines that are established outside the two national test centers is 30 MW.
The purpose of the pools is to support and strengthen the conditions for experimental wind turbines in Denmark, and at the request of the industry, this is done through a differentiation between experimental wind turbines within and outside the two national test centers.
New to the pools in 2020 is the possibility of using non-factory new wind turbines under certain conditions, which are described in the executive orders. The purpose is to enable other types of testing and trials, as well as to give the industry more flexible options for conducting tests and trials.
Experimental wind turbines within the national test centers that obtain commitments will receive 1.97 øre/kWh. This corresponds to the highest price premium among the winning offers in the technology-neutral tender 2019.
Experimental wind turbines outside the national test centers that obtain commitments will receive 1.54 øre/kWh, which corresponds to the production-weighted average of the price premiums among the winning offers in the technology-neutral tender 2019.
