At a municipal council meeting on Thursday, Bornholm's mayor Jacob Trøst was able to announce that the EU has allocated 4.6 billion DKK for the project. Despite the financial support, Minister Lars Aagaard (M) announced on Friday that the project will be put on hold until a new German government is in place. Because despite the money from the EU, there are too many uncertainties about the project. This is reported by TV 2 Bornholm.
Despite the pause of the major project, Bornholm's mayor Jacob Trøst (K) maintains his faith in Energiø Bornholm.
- This is a postponement – not a cancellation. I still believe that it will come to fruition. We can also see that in the funds from the EU. It is a project that is important for Europe, says Jacob Trøst.
