In February, a wind turbine transport with a section of a wind turbine tower weighing 600 tons crashed at the motorway exit at Korskroen. The turbine section was on its way to the Port of Esbjerg. The cause of the accident is not yet known. Therefore, the Danish Road Directorate and the police have increased observations of the large turbine transports, especially on Krogsgårdsvej near Esbjerg. In addition, a single transport has been denied permission, writes JydskeVestkysten.

- The police and the vehicle inspection are still processing the case of the accident at Korskroen. The Danish Road Directorate, in collaboration with the South and South Jutland Police, has therefore chosen to temporarily assess the risk in advance of transports that are comparable to the damaged transport. This is with a focus on Krogsgårdsvej near Esbjerg, because there is housing very close to the road. This practice will continue until we know the cause of the accident, says Area Manager in the Danish Road Directorate's Section for Contract Management and Authority, Søren Andersen.

So far, the investigations into the accident involving the wind turbine transport have ruled out both overloading and holes in the road surface as the cause of what caused the semi-trailer to tip over. No one was injured in the accident.
