After the mill transport accident, locals have had enough: Transporter reports to the police

Several citizens fear that the accident at the Korskro exit in February could have happened later on the route where their home is located. Now a citizen has reported another transporter to the police because the citizen believes his property rights have been violated.

In February, a wind turbine transport with a 600-ton turbine section overturned at motorway access 73 Korskro on the Esbjerg motorway. The accident is largely the realization of the fears of a number of residents of Krogsgårdsvej. The turbine transport that overturned was supposed to have passed their home later on its route towards Esbjerg Harbour on a road that is so narrow that the transports do not have to drive many centimeters wrong before the transport risks toppling into their houses.

This is a concern that the residents of the road have had for several years. Now, however, one of the residents has reported the transport company Torben Rafn A/S to the police, which is accused of having crossed the dividing line between private and public areas at Krogsgårdsvej 38 during a transport on Saturday night. This is written by JydskeVestkysten, who has spoken to general manager Jens Aage Daugaard, who has not been informed of a police report yet, but confirms that the situation around Krogsgårdsvej has escalated. after the accident at Korskro, which Torben Rafn A/S was not involved in.

- I'm sorry that we've ended up in this - it's not to bother the people who live on Krogsgårdsvej. We're carrying out a task, and this is the route that the authorities have set out. I talk a lot to the crew about remembering to take it easy and act politely and properly, because I can also understand that the residents of Krogsgårdsvej are frustrated, says Jens Aage Daugaard.

Jens Aage Daugaard is not the only one who understands the residents' concerns, the mayor of Esbjerg Municipality, Jesper Frost Rasmussen (V), does too, and he has expressed his concern to the Danish Road Directorate, which issues the driving permits to the wind turbine transporters. The municipality has also, in collaboration with Esbjerg, Vejle, Billund and Ikast-Brande, the wind turbine industry and the transporters, come up with a proposal for a new route to the Port of Esbjerg, which, however, requires state co-financing of between 170 and 260 million. DKK.

- The accident at Korskro clearly shows how bad things can go, and that we are in a completely unsustainable situation. I have been in continuous dialogue with several ministers about the matter, but so far it has mostly been about the physical limitations and the inconvenience for the citizens. The Korskro accident gives rise to another request to Christiansborg that it is urgent and that the safety of transport is paramount, says the mayor.
