The Danish energy company Ørsted will reduce the number of employees globally from 8,000 to 6,000 by the end of 2027.
The company announced this on Thursday.
- We have told our employees today that by the end of 2027 we will be saying goodbye to many talented and valued colleagues who have made a great contribution to Ørsted, says Rasmus Errboe, CEO of Ørsted, in a statement.
Ørsted also announced on Thursday that it has announced the layoffs of approximately 500 employees in the fourth quarter of 2025, of which approximately 235 in Denmark.
It was expected that there would be layoffs in the Danish energy company, which has been facing headwinds recently, including in the United States.
The company has completed a capital raise of 60 billion kroner.
However, in connection with an adjustment of the business, it has dropped a number of projects that were supposed to be started in the coming years.
