KK Wind Solutions has been collaborating since 2021 on the development of power conversion and control technology for green hydrogen production. In 2023, the parties produced the first kilogram of green hydrogen at a project in Denmark. Now the partnership is being expanded, as Stiesdal will deliver key technologies for a new green hydrogen plant being developed by Stiesdal Hydrogen.

The expanded partnership is seen as an important step towards scaling green hydrogen production in Europe at lower costs. will deliver key technologies for a new green hydrogen plant being developed by Stiesdal Hydrogen.

– This framework agreement shows how our combined expertise enables stable and efficient hydrogen production and contributes to the transition to a sustainable energy future. Thank you to Stiesdal Hydrogen for the continued partnership and for the innovation that drives this important industry forward, says Michael Ariel Nielsen, CEO of KK Wind Solutions.

The projects typically begin at approx. 12.4 MW with standardized 3.1 MW electrolyzer modules and can be expanded in stages to larger capacity. The electrolyzer control system is adapted to Stiesdal's specific plant sites and is intended to ensure stable and efficient operation by handling dynamic renewable energy sources and delivering reliable power to the electrolysis stacks. It is intended to enable maximum production of green hydrogen and reduce operating costs. The goal of the new plant concept is a capital investment (CAPEX) of less than 1,000 euros per kW – significantly lower than current market prices.

- By combining the PSU and electrolyzer control system and reaping synergy from the cooling technologies from Nissens Cooling Solutions, we can deliver complete solutions for power and thermal management in the green hydrogen sector, says Michael Ariel Nielsen.

The agreement also includes thermal management solutions from Nissens Cooling Solutions, which is now part of KK Wind Solutions. The integrated systems must ensure optimal performance, efficiency and reliability under demanding conditions.
