TotalEnergies has sold 50% of a 270 MW portfolio of wind and solar projects in France to investment funds managed by Eiffel Investment Group. The transaction values the portfolio at 265 million euros and is part of the company's strategy to optimize the value of its renewable energy projects.
After the sale, TotalEnergies will still retain half of the ownership and continue as operator of the projects, where the company sells and markets the majority of the production.
The sale is part of TotalEnergies' integrated energy business model, where the company combines renewable energy with flexible energy sources such as CCGT and energy storage. The strategy involves selling up to half of the projects when they are commercially operational, in order to reduce risks and maximize the value of the investments.
