The Danish Export and Investment Fund, Eifo, has signed a credit facility of DKK 6.35 billion for the French energy company Engie. The credit facility will contribute to the financing of wind projects in several European countries and support deliveries from Danish companies. Eifo states this in a press release.
Eifo covers 95 percent of the credit facility through a buyer credit guarantee. HSBC acts as Eifo and Facility Agent and has also been the documentation bank, while Citi, ING, Crédit Agricole CIB and Commerzbank participate as Mandated Lead Arrangers. According to Eifo, the agreement includes contracts from several Danish exporters for wind projects with a total expected capacity of more than 1.5 GW.
- I am pleased that Eifo has signed another agreement with Engie, which secures international orders for Danish suppliers and supports a number of new wind projects across Europe. The facility is in line with Eifo's strategy to open doors for Danish companies in global markets and support projects that strengthen a sustainable and robust energy system, says Peter Boeskov, CEO of Eifo.
The credit facility is the second between Eifo and Engie and builds on a long-standing collaboration on financing energy projects. Engie is active in energy production and infrastructure and works with both renewable energy sources and energy services in several European countries.
