CS Wind Offshore has recently shipped the last monopiles out of the Port of Odense and put production in Munkebo on hold. This is reported by Fyens Stiftstidende.
"We have just completed our latest project with the production of monopiles, which means that activity on Lindø will be minimal until we secure new orders," reads a written response from the company to Fyens Stiftstidende.
The company has previously announced that 220 employees will be laid off in stages as a result of the production pause. According to CS Wind Offshore, this is not desired, but necessary in a pressured market. However, it is actively working to obtain new orders so that production can resume.
CS Wind Offshore maintains a small team on site and maintains its lease at the Port of Odense, but until new projects arise, the areas will remain empty. Carsten Aa, CEO of the Port of Odense, has previously emphasized that the port's overall development does not depend on the activity of individual companies. This statement came in response to another subcontractor to the wind turbine industry, Lindø Steel, closing the company completely due to the decline in the offshore industry.
