The green business organization Green Power Denmark held its annual summit in Bella Arena in Copenhagen on Thursday. The summit was the first of its kind since the organization was formed last year.
In connection with the summit, Green Power Denmark also awarded the "Green Power Prize" for the first time, which was created to honor those who dare to make bold decisions and make a difference in the green transition. Those who look at how to create tomorrow's energy system and make decisions that help electrify Denmark.
This year, Crossbridge Energy and Everfuel were chosen for their joint HySynergy project, Green Power Denmark said in a statement.
In the HySynergy project, Crossbridge Energy and Everfuel are working together to create the green fuels of the future. The project is based in Fredericia, where they have built one of Europe's largest hydrogen factories with an expected daily production of 8 tons of green hydrogen in the first half of 2023.
The project supports electrification through electrolysis plants and liquid fuels in sectors where direct electrification is not immediately possible.
"A classy example of a brave decision"
- Big congratulations to Crossbridge Energy and Everful. The HySynergy project truly deserves the Green Power Award. They have shown great courage by leading the way and investing in the green fuels of the future. The project is helping to pave the way for Denmark to become a Power-to-X pioneer country, says Kristian Jensen, CEO of Green Power Denmark and continues:
- One of the world's largest hydrogen production plants is now located in Fredericia. It is contributing to the electrification of Danish society to a great extent. The project is a prime example of a courageous decision that is really accelerating the green transition and helping to create tomorrow's energy system.
The prize came with a statuette and 30,000 kroner for a green cause. The prize winner has chosen to donate the 30,000 kroner to the Triangle Energy Alliance, where the funds are earmarked for information initiatives for 6th graders in the Triangle area about the many green initiatives in the area.
In addition to Crossbridge Energy and Everful, GreenLab Skive and DOT were also nominated for the prize.
