Bladt Industries has several large orders in the pipeline. The company will, among other things, produce five offshore transformer stations. These will be produced at the same time, and therefore the company needs more space at its production facilities at the Port of Aalborg, where the transformer stations will be produced.
That is why an expansion has been planned, and now the construction of the new facilities has started, Bladt Industries says in a press release.
- We will get 110,000 new square meters - that is roughly equivalent to 15 football fields. 60,000 m2 has been set aside for use by future OSSs – with full infrastructure – technical construction with electricity, compressed air and water – and collection of all water from the production of OSS, so that this is treated in an environmentally friendly manner, says Søren Schlott Mikkelsen, Operations Management Office at Bladt Industries.
The remaining 50,000 m2 will be used for storage/assembly space for large parts, for example for external platforms. In addition, the road to Bladt's production facilities in Aalborg will be widened to 30 meters.
In connection with the expansion, the quay on Bladt's premises will be widened, so that it will be possible to drive directly onto barges and ships. It will also be possible to bring larger ships into Bladt's premises, as the water depth at the unloading platform will be increased from the current 9.7 meters to 11 meters.
