The company has announced a deficit for 2024 of 1.6-1.7 billion. To avoid bankruptcy, Obton is proposing a merger between the funds and parts of the company in a new energy company, ReCo, which will be run by Obton. Alternatives are described as unrealistic in a newsletter to investors.

"In the opinion of the board of directors, there is no other option than to join ReCo, however difficult that realization may seem," according to Jyllands-Posten, in the management's comments on the accounts of Obton Impact AKK Selskab.

At the same time, the company is under pressure from authorities and investors. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority has reported Obton to the police for not acting in the interests of investors and accuses the company of having withdrawn three-digit million amounts in fees without informing investors. In addition, a group of investors in another fund has sued former director Anders Marucs for DKK 75 million. DKK, which Obton allegedly unjustifiably took from the fund.

Obton has denied all accusations and refuses interviews, but maintains in a written response that investors should be informed first and not the press.
