The bankrupt solar cell group Obton is currently paying a lot of money for office space, which is largely empty. This is reported by Børsen.
The premises are located in Nicolinehus on Aarhus Ø and are part of a non-cancellable lease that binds the company until 2031 to a rental fee of DKK 3.1 million per year, for which there are also annual operating expenses of almost DKK 370,000.
Obton moved in in 2021, but after a major round of layoffs, the employees are now gathered in a smaller space, and the company has gone through a attempted to rent out an entire floor to the other party for a longer period. The non-cancellable agreement means that Obton will have to pay 89 million DKK for the remaining rental period.
