RINGKØBING-SKJERN: Ringkøbing-Skjern is the municipality in Denmark that has by far the most renewable energy installed. But now the limit has also been reached. At least that's what citizens and summer homeowners in Hemmet, Bork and Sdr. Vium, which has collected 1,200 protest signatures against several renewable energy plants in Ringkøbing-Skjern, writes Dagbladet Ringkøbing-Skjern.
The signatures were recently delivered to Mayor Hans Østergaard (V), and according to Kenneth Olesen, chairman of Bork Land & By, the 1,200 signatures only show a small part of the aversion to new renewable energy plants in the southern part of the West Jutland municipality.
- We are experiencing that 90 percent of the population in our part of the municipality is against having more plants stuffed down our throats. It is almost only landowners who have the prospect of renting out the land at good prices who are not against it. And that is understandable enough. But the vast majority do not want more facilities. We have done our part, says Kenneth Olesen.
