Organizations that focus on employees' personal development, creativity and opportunities for immersion perform significantly better financially than others. This is shown by a new global study from Deloitte. Deloitte writes in a press release.

- How do we create psychological security, belonging and space for immersion among our employees when the business is under pressure to be agile and adaptable? This is something that many leaders ask themselves. The answer lies largely in rethinking the role of the leader, so that there is more space for what matters most – namely the development of human skills and lifelong learning, says Nikolaj Malchow-Møller, head of people & purpose at Deloitte.

The study shows that companies that prioritize development and creativity are 1.8 times more likely to have better financial results, 1.4 times more likely to create broad value for customers and society, and 1.6 times more likely to offer employees meaningful tasks.

At the same time, the analysis indicates that traditional job descriptions and linear career paths are on the decline, just as separate desks and fixed meeting times are on the way out. More than half (54 percent) of those surveyed are concerned that the boundaries between work and private life are blurring.

According to Deloitte, leaders today spend an average of only 13 percent of their time on their of their time on employee development, while almost 40 percent are spent on unforeseen tasks and administration. According to Deloitte, new technology such as AI can relieve managers and free up time for actual management.

The study also points to the need for new methods to understand and motivate employees. Technologies that were previously used to influence consumer behavior can now be used to promote employee performance and innovation.
