The Rambøll Foundation, which owns the Rambøll Group, has appointed Søren Staugaard Nielsen as CEO from 1 January 2022.
This is the first time that the Rambøll Foundation has a CEO and a secretariat. The daily management and operations have until now been handled by the foundation's board of directors, which consists of current and former employees.
- With Søren Staugaard Nielsen, we have an ambitious and strong leader of the Rambøll Foundation's secretariat to create the right framework for the foundation's future work as an active owner of one of Europe's largest consulting companies. After many years at Rambøll, including as part of the senior management in Denmark, Søren Staugaard Nielsen knows Rambøll inside out and has a deep understanding of the values and special sense of community that are part of Rambøll's DNA. says Robert Arpe, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Rambøll Foundation.
Søren Staugaard Nielsen is a lawyer and has spent a total of 24 years in the Rambøll Group. Most recently, he came from a position as Danish Country Director for Rambøll's consulting company Rambøll Management Consulting.
- I am very much looking forward to developing the ownership and thinking long-term with Rambøll together with the Foundation Board, and ensuring that we continue to be an owner on behalf of the employees, both in word and deed. It is my ambition that in the long term Rambøll will have an even more value-based approach to the types of customers and projects the company deals with,” says Søren Staugaard Nielsen.
In connection with the change of chairman, the foundation also states that it is the ambition that the grant framework, which in 2021 was 20 million. DKK for strategic research and innovation projects that support the sustainable development of society, will grow by 50 percent in the coming years.
The Rambøll Foundation is one of Denmark's largest commercial foundations. The foundation owns the majority of shares in Rambøll Gruppen A/S with approximately 97.5 percent of the company's shares. The remaining shares are owned by Rambøll Gruppen's employees.
