Rambøll hires Total's former head of Denmark Patrick Gilly, because the former oil and gas profile will be at the forefront of the green transition at Rambøll. 280 employees work on projects for the oil and gas sector, but the Frenchman will help change that.
- The energy system of the future will be based on renewable energy and decarbonization technology such as CO2 capture and storage, hydrogen and Power-to-X. The oil and gas sector plays an important role in getting there. They own part of the infrastructure, have knowledge of technology and have great financial muscle. Patrick Gilly has in-depth knowledge of the oil and gas sector and knows what it takes to help it move in a greener direction, says Michael Simmelsgaard, group chief operating officer at Rambøll.
Patrick Gilly will start as director of one of Rambøll's energy divisions on September 1. On the same date, Micheal Simmelsgaard himself will be replaced by Hannes Reuter, who is now CEO of Rambølls Energy Business. Patrick Gilly resigned from his position as CEO of Total Denmark in the spring of 2020.
