New Director of Oil and Gas at TotalEnergies Denmark finally in place

As DOI.dk reported in July, Ole Hansen will become CEO of TotalEnergies Denmark's oil and gas business based in Esbjerg.

A Dane takes over from a Frenchman in TotalEnergie's Danish oil and gas business. As DOI.dk could already report in July, Ole Hansen is returning to the Danish organization after two years as president and CEO in the US, where he led the company's oil and gas activities in the US. He takes over from Eric Delattre, who takes up a new position as CEO of another of TotalEnergie's subsidiaries.

The new director comes with experience from TotalEnergies and previously Maersk Oil in various operational and commercial roles in Denmark, the UK, Singapore and most recently in the US. Most recently, he was From 2019 to 2022, Ole was head of business development & joint venture management for TotalEnergies EP Denmark before going to the US. Ole Hansen has also held the position of Vice Chairman of Energy Cluster Denmark.

- I am very excited to be back to take up the position of CEO. My career started in the Danish North Sea 24 years ago, so I am deeply committed to both the organization and the role that Esbjerg will play in Denmark's energy future, says Ole Hansen.

Oil and gas still cover almost 50 percent of Denmark's energy consumption, and TotalEnergies is Denmark's leading producer. Therefore, TotalEnergies plays a crucial role in contributing to less dependence on imported products.

- Our goal as a multi-energy company is, together with our customers and society, to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. The task is to expand the energy solutions of the future, while ensuring security of supply during the transition. The Tyra project plays a key role in this context, and we are fully focused on bringing Tyra into full production, says Ole Hansen.
