Verdo is facing a massive deficit in 2024. An as yet unpublished financial statement shows a total loss before tax of DKK 171.6 million, according to documents that Randers Amtsavisen has been given access to. The energy division Verdo Energy Systems in particular has contributed to the large deficit with a minus of 131 million DKK. According to the accounts, several projects in the division have had significant financial challenges, writes the local media.

The accounts also reveal that Verdo's total revenue has fallen to 3.29 billion DKK, which is almost 700 million DKK lower than the year before. The operating profit (EBITDA) has fallen to 1 million DKK, compared to 130 million DKK last year. The deficit also leads to a reduction in equity to 751.5 million DKK.

"Overall, the result for 2024 is very unsatisfactory. The result means that Verdo is not as well equipped as it has previously been," writes Verdo's CFO Kenneth R. H. Jeppesen in his report in the annual report.

Verdo's annual accounts are expected to be formally approved at the general meeting next week. Verdo's CEO Jesper Vinter Barslund does not want to comment on the financial statements until they have been approved.
