AARHUS: It is the Unity Party, the New Civic Party and Jakob Søgaard Clausen who want a referendum to be held, TV2 Østjylland reports.
- This is such a big and massive project for Aarhus, and it is something that will have an impact on the rest of Aarhus's lifespan. So that is why we think it is important that the people of Aarhus are asked, says Jakob Søgaard Clausen, who is an independent member of the city council and a member of the technical committee.
The proposal pleases Thomas Bekker, who is one of the citizens who has fought against the expansion.
- It has been a fantastic initiative from the politicians. It is a huge port expansion that will have a great impact on the city. And the politicians themselves say that this is the biggest decision in a decade for Aarhus. If not ever.
However, not everyone is equally enthusiastic about the proposal.
