FREDERIKSHAVN: On Wednesday, it emerged that the financial chaos in Frederikshavn Port was so bad that the municipality will have to take the port back as of May 15. The process leading up to the takeover will now be investigated in a legal investigation. This was unanimously adopted by the Frederikshavn city council on Wednesday evening, writes TV2 Nord.
A legal investigation of the port for the period 2012-24 was proposed by Mayor Birgit Hansen (S) on Monday, and was therefore voted through as expected. The investigation is scheduled to be ready before the New Year, and the city council has allocated 1.5 million DKK to carry it out.
- It will free up some energy so that we can make the right decisions. I actually don't think we can move forward until we have an answer to why it has gone so wrong, Birgit Hansen has previously said about the reason why a legal investigation of the port is necessary.
