The Danish Energy Agency has asked Energinet to raise the preparedness level for the electricity and gas sectors in Denmark after several leaks on gas pipelines near Bornholm. This is stated by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities to Ritzau.
It is not clear what the preparedness level will be raised to, but the expectation is that a detailed report from the Danish Energy Agency will be issued shortly.
The Ministry also confirms that a total of three leaks have been detected on the gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2. There are two leaks on Nord Stream 1 and one leak on Nord Stream 2.
- As a consequence of these incidents, the Danish Energy Agency has asked Energinet to raise the preparedness level for the electricity and gas sector in Denmark, states Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Dan Jørgensen (S).
- The incidents on the two pipelines have no supply-related consequences for Denmark. Authorities and the government are closely monitoring the situation and will keep the public informed.
The leaks have occurred northeast and southeast of Bornholm respectively. The announcement comes after a drop in pressure was observed in the gas pipelines running from Russia to Germany.
