In July, it was announced that Norwegian DOF Group ASA (DOF Group) had acquired Maersk Supply Service A/S from A.P. Møller Holding. Now the deal, which amounts to a value of approximately 1.1 billion USD in the form of a contact payment of 557 million USD and 58,883,073 shares in DOF, has finally gone through. With the acquisition of the shares in DOF, A.P. Møller Holding will in future own 25 percent of the share capital in DOF. This is stated by DOF in a statement.
From now on, Maersk Supply Service will go under the name DOF Offshore Holding Denmark and the goal is to create a leader in support for the offshore oil and gas industry. The focus on the oil and gas sector is due to the fact that Maersk Supply Service's wind activities will continue to be owned by A.P. Møller Holding as a new independent offshore company called Maersk Offshore Wind. After the acquisition of Maersk Supply Service, DOF will have over 5,000 employees and a fleet of 78 vessels.
- We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our new colleagues to DOF. We look forward to jointly developing the combined company as a leading global offshore service provider, says Mons Aase, CEO of DOF Group ASA
