Fredericia Port, operated by ADP, hopes to become a CO2 hub and a node for PtX. In fact, ADP is prepared to invest up to one billion DKK in CO2 infrastructure, which should be able to handle three million tons of CO2 per year. This is what CEO of ADP Rune D. Rasmussen says in an interview with Børsen Bæredygtig.
- There is no municipality or port with self-respect that does not have a dream of power-to-x. But it is almost bigger than one can even imagine making this conversion, he says.
The director sees great opportunities in particular in a rate on the CO2, which will be used in connection with the production of green fuels, since within 100 km of Fredericia, 2.5 million tons of CO2 can be collected from industry, biogas plants and incineration plants, among other things, 400,000 tons can be collected annually from the refinery in Fredericia.
Rune D. Rasmussen does not believe that ammonia production will occur in Fredericia for safety reasons. But he feels confident that green fuel will be produced in Fredericia in the future.
