Wind farms at Dogger Bank get new names

2. MAR 2020 10.00

SSE Renewables and Equinor have taken a trip to the numerologist and have given three of their offshore wind farms new names, writes renews.biz

Creyke Beck A, Creyke Beck B and Teesside A will henceforth be called Dogger Bank A, B and C. The previous names reflected the previous owners and where the electricity from the turbines was to be transported, while the three farms are now named after their location on an old bank, in what was known as 'Doggerland'.

Dogger Bank A is expected to be operational in 2023, while Dogger Bank B will follow in 2024 and Dogger Bank C in 2025. Each of the farms has a capacity of 1.2 GW.
