Vestas shuts down 150 turbines after Swedish turbine collapse

15. JAN 2021 10.05

Vestas has shut down approximately 150 V-150 turbines after discovering a fault in the turbine blades. This is reported by renews.biz.

The fault in the blades is the reason why the turbines are now being shut down. The fault was discovered after a V150-4.2 MW wind turbine collapsed at the Aldermyrberget wind farm in Sweden in November.

- As an extraordinary measure, Vestas has shut down approximately 150 V150-4.0/4.2/4.3 MW turbines with one or more of the same type of blade insert configuration as the turbine that collapsed are on hold, Vestas informs.
