A newly built Vestas wind turbine collapsed on Saturday evening in the Swedish wind farm Aldermyrberget, which was due to be put into operation in December. Vestas has now launched an investigation, writes Finans.
- There are many factors that come into play, and before we go into the turbine, for example, we need someone to assess whether it is safe or whether the tower should be cut down first. So it is a bit cumbersome, and it is more important to do it right than quickly, says Vestas' communications manager, Anders Riis.
Vestas has delivered and installed 17 units. V150-4.2 MW wind turbines for Aldermyrberget, but has not yet handed over the project to the customer WPD Scandinaiva.
