Tuesday was a good day at the order offices at Vestas. Earlier in the day, the Danish wind turbine manufacturer was able to announce that it had been chosen as the preferred supplier of RWE and Northland Power for the 1.6 GW offshore wind project Nordseecluster in the German part of the North Sea.
Shortly before midnight, however, the company was able to report on another gigawatt-sized order. Thus, the company has announced in a brief company announcement that it has signed a conditional agreement regarding two onshore wind energy projects in Brazil with a total capacity of 1.3 GW.
It is not clear who the customer is, what types of turbines have been ordered and when they will be installed. On the other hand, Vestas states that "if and when the projects result in a firm and unconditional order according to Vestas' definition, Vestas will publish this in a company announcement."
