At a board meeting on 29 January 2026, the Port of Thyborøn constituted its board for the coming four-year period, during which the board will be expanded, and the incumbent chairman Kar Kristian Bro was re-elected. This was announced by the Port of Thyborøn in a press release.
The newly elected mayor of Lemvig Municipality, Jens Lønberg (C), has been appointed as deputy chairman. He is one of two newly elected board members. The other is Chris Olesen (V), who is deputy mayor of Lemvig Municipality and former director of the Thyborøn Port Fishing Association. The other members will continue for a new four-year period. Including former mayor of Lemvig Erikflyvholm, despite the fact that he decided to stop working in municipal politics before the municipal election.
According to the port, the expansion strengthens the board's political and business competencies in a period where there is a focus on developing the port's infrastructure and services to attract companies and create jobs in the local area.
Chairman Karl Kristian Bro points out that the port continues to develop, among other things, within offshore wind energy as a result of investments in heavy goods quays and increased water depth. There are also plans for additional quay construction, storage and production areas, and further deepening of the port.
- In Thyborøn we have room for very large vessels, large components and extensive quayside areas. Our location directly on the North Sea and the available areas give us the opportunity to support our customers both now and far into the future, says Karl Kristian Bro, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thyborøn Havn.
The Board of Directors will now consist of Karl Kristian Bro (Chairman), Jens Lønberg (Vice Chairman), Erik Flyvholm, Chris Olesen, Alfred Fisker, Susanne Nicolaisen, Rasmus Normann Andersen, Steen Bitsch and Jan From.
