The government's ambition is to quadruple the amount of electricity from wind turbines and solar cells on land and to lay district heating pipes at an unprecedented pace, so that Denmark can quickly become free of natural gas.

This intention is praised by several interest groups on Tuesday, when the government presents the reform proposal "Denmark can do more II". But many answers and details are missing, it is also said.

- Today's proposal is full of good intentions about, for example, the expansion of solar cells and wind turbines. But we need a clearer roadmap for Danish business and Danish homeowners who live in rural areas. Who will pay, and when will the investment pay off?, says Troels Blicher Danielsen, CEO of TEKNIQ Arbejdsgiverne, in a written comment.

The Confederation of Danish Industry also notes that the government has not said how the proposal will be financed.

- We have made great progress in formulating the ambitions in the proposal. Now it is important that there is action behind the words and some significant priorities. The money must be found, the district heating pipes must be buried, there must be sufficient qualified labor, and there must be places where we can build wind turbines and solar cells, Lars Sandahl Sørensen, CEO of the Confederation of Danish Industry, said in a press conference in the Mirror Hall at the Prime Minister's Office.

At a press conference in the Mirror Hall at the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) said that the government will present its proposal for a uniform CO2 tax for companies on Wednesday. According to the government, it will be based on the principle that companies that pollute the climate pay for their emissions.

Several interest groups are excited to hear more about it because it will be a central part of the transition.

- In general, we are positive about the government's proposal, but will now read it closely. At the same time, we look forward to the proposals that will be presented in the coming days - not least in relation to the green tax, says the CEO of the Confederation of Danish Enterprise, Brian Mikkelsen.
