The Danish Energy Agency will launch a public consultation on the offshore wind turbine project Lillebælt Syd Wind Farm until 26 April 2024. This is after the environmental impact report for the project was approved on 7 February, the agency said in a statement.

"The Danish Energy Agency invites the public and affected authorities to submit comments on the application and the other consultation material," the statement reads.

The project includes the installation of 11 offshore wind turbines on monopiles with a total capacity of 165 MW and will cover an area of 32 square kilometres, which is located in the Little Belt between Als and Helnæs on Funen, approximately three kilometres off Als. The Danish Energy Agency will only make a final decision on whether an establishment permit can be granted for the project once the public consultation on the application for an establishment permit based on the approved environmental impact report has been completed, including consultation response from this public consultation of the environmental impact report.

TotalEnergies bought 72.2 percent of Lillebælt Syd earlier this year, in addition, the local utility company Sonfor and European Energy own 15 and 12.75 percent of the project, respectively.   Later, it is intended that citizens will be able to buy shares in the wind farm.
