Dogger Bank Wind Farm and GE Renewable Energy have reached a huge agreement for two of the three Dogger Bank offshore wind farms, each with a capacity of 1.2 GW.

GE will supply 190 13 MW Haliade-X offshore wind turbines, to be divided equally between Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B. This will be the first time that GE's giant model has been installed for commercial use.

Dogger Bank is a joint venture between SSE Renewables and Equinor, which will operate the offshore wind farm once it is operational. Installation of the wind turbines is expected to begin in 2023.

In England, Energy Minister Kwasi Kwarteng is pleased about the green jobs that come with the order, which will create around 240 extra jobs in northeast England.

- It is projects like Dogger Bank that are crucial to rebuilding a green economy after the corona pandemic - creating jobs, helping the economy and tackling climate challenges, says Kwasi Kwarteng.

Port of Tyne has already been chosen as the shipping and service port for the upcoming offshore wind farms.
