The crisis-stricken solar cell developer Better Energy has cut half of its development projects. In Denmark, the company is going from around 30 to 15 potential solar cell and battery plants. Founder and CEO Rasmus Lildholdt Kjær explains to Energiwatch that the decision is an expression of the company only continuing with projects that make sense in relation to the current demand for green electricity.

At the same time, Better Energy has significantly written down the value of its development projects and adjusted its strategy so that in future the company will no longer own or invest in new energy plants itself. The focus will instead be on developing and operating projects for external investors.

- We have very harshly written down the value of the individual companies for these development projects. It will become clear in the coming years whether we actually succeed in getting these values realized at higher levels than they are written down to, says Rasmus Lildholdt Kjær.
