MIDDELFART: A solar park, which is being built by European Energy, in Middelfart Municipality near Fyllested has now received final approval from the city council in the municipality. Thus, the last stones have been cleared of the road for the 80-hectare solar park, which will have an expected annual production of 113 MWh. This is reported in Fyens Stiftstidende.
It was not a unanimous city council that was behind the adoption, as the Denmark Democrats and the Unity List voted against it. Both parties expressed that they missed more citizen involvement in the adoption process. However, as a result of 21 consultation responses during the consultation period, there have been a number of adjustments to the project, including more green areas between the solar cells. European Energy estimates that the construction of the park will take up to a year. However, it will be longer before the park can be in operation.
- The decisive thing is actually when we can be connected to the electricity grid. We have repeatedly asked Energinet for an answer as to when they can be ready with their part. But I hope that everything can be completed so that we can send the first green electricity to the grid in two or three years, says Planning Manager at European Energy Lilian Schmidt Sannig.
