TEKNIQ: Necessary confrontation with the job center regime

The employment agreement should simplify the system and make room for private actors.

The new political agreement on employment efforts is a source of satisfaction for the business organization TEKNIQ, which sees the agreement as a step towards a simpler and trust-based effort. This is what TEKNIQ writes in a press release.

– The system has been characterized by control and process requirements for far too long, which is why it is absolutely necessary to combat the job center regime and open up for more local freedom, flexibility and competition – for example through private actors and artificial intelligence, says Maria Schougaard Berntsen, deputy director of TEKNIQ, which organizes the technical business community.

According to TEKNIQ, the job centers should focus more on the specific needs of companies and the opportunities of the unemployed instead of maintaining a heavy administrative system.

– The job centers' most important role is to know the needs of companies and match them with the potential of the individual unemployed – not to maintain a system that is bogged down in administration. When unemployment insurance funds and private actors get more space, we can create faster and more targeted processes that match the local labor market. That is the entire prerequisite for helping the unemployed continue in meaningful jobs, says Maria Schougaard Berntsen.
