Eurowind Energy and Norway's BOS Power are joining forces to establish one of Denmark's largest battery energy storage systems in GreenLab Skive. BOS Power acts as a system integrator and supplies the battery system, which includes energy storage, inverters, energy management system, transformers and switchgear. Eurowind Energy is the developer of the plant itself.
The plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2025 and will provide support and frequency control services to Energinet. The purpose is to stabilize the energy grid and improve the efficiency of wind and solar energy production.
- BOS Power's expertise in large-scale energy storage and renewable integration makes them the ideal partner for this ambitious project. BESS technology is an important part of our energy parks because it ensures a stable and efficient energy supply and grid stability for the benefit of both the local energy supply and the green transition in general, says Morten Gaarde, Global EPC Director at Eurowind Energy, in a press release.
The new plant will be part of the hybrid park in GreenLab Skive, which combines wind and solar energy with a total capacity of 84.8 MW and an annual production of 186 million kWh. The battery solution from BOS Power is intended to ensure rapid power compensation, balance fluctuations in energy production and strengthen the stability of the electricity grid.
BOS Power, headquartered in Bergen and operating from ten locations in the Nordic region, specializes in sustainable energy storage, emergency power and marine propulsion solutions. The company is part of the Bertel O. Steen Group in Norway.
