Work on the new multi-purpose quay in the Port of Rønne's West Harbour is progressing, and the physical framework is starting to take shape. Among other things, water, electricity and wastewater pipes are being installed, which will ensure supply for the ships that will dock in the future. This is stated by the Port of Rønne in a press release.

A central element in the construction is the installation of a large wastewater tank, which will ensure correct and environmentally friendly handling of wastewater from the ships. Work on the concrete edge beam is underway on the quay. It is being cast on top of the sheet pile wall and will become the foundation for both bollards and fenders. In the hinterland, two storm bollards are also being established, which will ensure the mooring of larger vessels in difficult weather.

– Things are progressing very well, and not least the good weather has meant that we have come a long way in a short time. There is good energy in the project, and we are very much looking forward to seeing the completed multifunctional quay being put into use, says project manager for MT Højgaard Michael Dalsgaard Sørensen, who is project manager at MT Højgaard.

If the schedule holds, the first 300 meters of the quay will be able to receive ships from August. Until then, Quays 31 and 32 in Sydhavnen will be used as temporary cruise quays. The cruise season begins on April 30 with the first call.
