
NKT has just completed a major investment at its cable accessories factory in Alingsås, Sweden, where a new test hall, expanded production capacity and a new office building have been constructed.
The company announced this in a press release.
The new facilities are now fully operational and will meet the growing demand for high-voltage cable accessories in Europe.

In other words, the investment is part of NKT's broader focus on strengthening both production and installation capacity in line with the growing demand for power cables in Europe and globally. The company identifies cable accessories as a strategically important area in the expansion of European and global electricity grids.
According to Denis Schuler, Executive Vice President and Head of Accessories at NKT, cable accessories are a crucial part of the electricity infrastructure, and the investment in Alingsås is to ensure that the company can meet market demands in line with increased electrification and the transition to renewable energy.
The expansion includes, among other things, new testing capabilities that make it possible to test cable accessories up to 640 kV. The factory in Alingsås serves as NKT's center of excellence for high-voltage cable accessories and now employs around 320 employees after an expansion of the workforce by around 30 employees.
