For the third year in a row, DTU is number one on EngiRank, which ranks Europe's technical universities. This year, the ranking has been expanded to 239 universities - including 15 British ones - but DTU still maintains its first place.
DTU President Anders Bjarklev calls the ranking a significant recognition of the university's employees and students.
- The first year it was a completely new ranking, but now that we have been named Europe's best technical university for the third year in a row, it really cements our position. This shows that our targeted efforts to combine world-class research with innovation and international collaborations have left a clear mark, he says.
EngiRank evaluates universities based on five criteria: research, innovation, internationalization, interdisciplinarity and work with the UN's SDG 9. Here, DTU also ranks at the top in chemistry, environmental technology and mechanics.
The ranking is published by the Polish Perspektywy Education Foundation and is based on data from Scopus, CORDIS and the European Patent Office, among other things.
