In March, Denmark's largest gas field Tyra was put back into operation after a 4.5-year shutdown. It started up at limited capacity and was originally planned to be at full capacity in July.
However, problems arose with a large transformer that supplies power to the IP gas compressor (IP = Intermediate Pressure). This led to the full capacity being postponed until "the end of the year".
That time has now come. In any case, Tyra field operator TotalEnergies has stated in a REMIT announcement that, subject to operational uncertainties, it expects to reach full technical capacity on the Tyra field between November 5 and 15, 2024.
Technically full capacity means that all the necessary machinery is up and running at the Tyra facility.
"The team will then focus on connecting the wells and restarting the gas flow from Tyra East and West as well as the surrounding fields (e.g. Tyra Southeast, Roar) to reach plateau production. Only when the gas flow from all fields has been reestablished will it be possible for Tyra to reach full production," TotalEnergies states in an email to DOI.dk.
The Tyra facility will produce 5.7 million cubic meters of gas per day when fully operational.
