Former department head joins Frederikshavn port board after chaos

All four professionally appointed members of the board resigned due to disagreements about the strategy. Now the replacements are almost in place. Karsten Dybvad, who is, among others, a former head of department in the Prime Minister's Office, is among the names.

FREDERIKSHAVN: A somewhat special situation unfolded in September on the board of directors of Frederikshavn Port. Thus, all board members who were not either employee representatives or politically appointed resigned from their positions on the port's board within a few days.

- When we step down earlier than we had planned, it is related to the strategy going forward - that is, how to run a port commercially. And then there is a disagreement about what is confidential and what is not confidential at the port, outgoing chairman Bo Uggerhøj explained in September to Nordjyske, where he emphasized, however, that he will not slam the door, but will part ways in a peaceful and orderly manner.

Now the remaining board has found its replacements. The most striking name among the new members must be said to be Karsten Dybvad, an economist and, among other things, former head of department in the Prime Minister's Office and former CEO of the Confederation of Danish Industry. In addition, Pia Ankerstjerne, as director of Martec in Frederikshavn, and Poul Knudsgaard, former director of MAN site Frederikshavn, will be part of the board.

The last board member will not be announced until next week's city council meeting in Frederikshavn, where the city council will also formally approve the new board, the port said in a statement.
