ODSHERRED: In the midst of an economic crisis, Odsherred Forsyning has hired auditor Lasse Westh-Overgaard to replace the CFO Claus Thorsen, who was reported to the police. The new director will take office on May 1, according to Dansk Fjernvarme and Odsherred Forsyning.
- I am of course aware that I am taking office as CFO in a company that is in financial turmoil, and I see that as a professionally exciting challenge, says Lasse Westh-Overgaard in a press release.
Lasse Westh-Overgaard has served as lead auditor for Odsherred Forsyning for a number of years until 2020. He has also specialized in knowledge about the Danish utility sector.
Cancelled its projects
Odsherred Forsyning has recently canceled its projects that were to convert to district heating because great uncertainty had been created about the economics of the projects.
The figures that the now-fired CFO presented to his board of directors and his owners - Odsherred Municipality - were a mirror image that did not reflect the real costs of connecting 2,500 properties to the district heating network, writes SN.dk.
Preliminarily, the price is said to have increased by over half a billion kroner - from 950 million kroner to 1.6 billion kroner - compared to the original budget. At the same time, the chairman and two other members of the board have resigned.
