NÆSTVED: Næstved Port has hired 56-year-old Jesper Boesen as the new port director, according to sn.dk. He comes from a position as head of Properties in Stevns Municipality and in his spare time he sails large wooden ships in the heavyweight class. As skipper of Bona Gratia, a galley from 1903.
He replaces Flemming Bach, who felt his credibility was being undermined when a local port debate reached new heated heights, and therefore resigned from his position. The debate was about a city council decision on the location of a new commercial port.
Jesper Boesen is no stranger to navigating political waters. He is a former head of the House of Disabled Organisations, where he was in frequent contact with elected officials.
