NÆSTVED: After just two years as director of Næstved Port, it's almost over for Flemming Bach. The port director has resigned from his position and his last day of work is February 28, unless his replacement is found before then. This is reported by Sn.dk.
According to the media outlet, the reason for the resignation is a disagreement over a city council decision to locate a new commercial port on Stenbæksholm in Næstved Municipality rather than listening to the port board and Flemming Bach's recommendation, which was for the Ydernæs area. The location on Stenbæksholm, which will cost approx. 80 million. DKK to establish, according to the port board, does not make sense, as the port's customers have already opted out of the location. Chairman of the port board Torben Johansen (K) is upset about Flemming Bach's resignation, but understands the director's decision.
- Flemming has put an incredible amount of work into ensuring the best possible solution for the port and the city, so I understand him well. But it is just so infinitely sad and frustrating that he is now leaving us. Because who wants to take over the job as port director in Næstved? I have no idea, he says.
