Employment Minister Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen (S) is now responding to the work accident in Flemløse on Funen, where two people have died and several have been injured.

On Facebook, the minister writes that unfortunately it happens all too often in Denmark that people lose their lives for a job:

- Tragic work accident in Flemløse on Funen yesterday. My deepest condolences and thoughts go to the families, friends and many colleagues of the deceased and injured, who are now facing a difficult time, she writes.

Funen Police announced on Tuesday evening that a serious work accident had occurred with both dead and injured people. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred in connection with work around a silo.

The police worked at the site, Flemløse Biogasanlæg, on Wednesday night, but the police have announced that the terrain is difficult to access. The Danish Working Environment Authority is also involved in the investigation.

Flemløse Biogas was built in 2020. When fully operational, the plant has the capacity to produce seven million cubic meters of gas for the natural gas network, according to the company's website. This is equivalent to heating 3,500 detached houses or 112 million kilometers driven in a passenger car.

Since 2020, the company behind it has applied to expand the biogas plant with a desire to increase capacity further. The gas at the plant is produced from manure, deep litter, trimmings from seed pastures, discarded vegetables from local vegetable growers and corn.
